E-OTD is the acronym for the Enhanced-Observed Time Difference.
This stands for the variety of the mobile phone real time locating system used in GSM phones by the company "Cambridge Positioning Systems" and other mobile service providers. The basic principle of operation of the E-OTD is the multilateration.
Because E-OTD requires additional hardware to be included in the mobile phone, E-OTD positioning system was less common than the U-TDOA positioning system.
