Version

  1. In databases, an alternative state of the database that has an owner, a description, a permission (private, protected, or public), and a parent version. Versions are not affected by changes occurring in other versions of the database.[1]
  2. An edition of a software product that incorporates major changes to the software from the previous version. A version is often called a release.[1]
